On a frôlé la cata!!! Mon zz raven a vraiment eu chaud cet été : 3 nouvelles longues tiges ont presque entièrement dépéri :( J’ai dépoté la plante pour vérifier l’état des racines et là, horreur : les bulbes des nouvelles pousses (uniquement) étaient tout ramollis. Il était pourtant dans un substrat qui se voulait assez drainant (pour cactées et succulentes) mais visiblement trop tassé et donc il gardait l’humidité. J’ai donc décidé de couper la partie atteinte des « bulbes » et de rempoter le tout. J’ai fait un mélange en gardant un peu de ce substrat « sableux » coupé au terreau universel léger de chez @algoflash_france et j’ai même ajouté un peu de perlite! Objectif drainage! Come to the dark side . I have ZZ’s . If there’s one plant that can persuade you, it would be this Zamioculcas Zamiifolia ‘Jungle Warrior’ also known as the Zanzibar Gem or ZZ plant. When we talk about aroids (our much loved Monsteras, Philodendrons etc.) Zamioculcas Zamiifolia is one of the oldest, most ancient aroids. Native to Africa, this species has adapted so well to our indoor jungles making it a favourite for not only those of us that are new to the indoor plant world but for any tropical plant lover! Not only is that sleek, dark foliage eye catching, this species is known for its easy to care for, hardy nature. This specific cultivar does extremely well in lower light conditions (even more so than its older brother- the classic green form) but can also thrive in brighter light. It’s succulent- like stems and waxy leaves indicate that this plant can hold onto its water, resulting in being very forgiving on the watering schedule front and does indeed like to dry out in between waterings. So it could be a case of ‘set and forget’ and this tall, dark and handsome guy will still be happy as doing his own thing, waiting for you when you next stop by!
